TVT looking for help with yarn bombs

PedalerapaloozaJefferson Matters: Main Street’s Tower View Team, TVT, is planning a yarn bombing event and is looking for people who knit or crochet to help.

TVT will yarn bomb bicycles and bike racks around the courthouse square to celebrate the Pedaler’s Jamboree in Jefferson over the Labor Day weekend.

Organizers expect as many as 2,500 bicyclists to ride on the Raccoon River Valley Trail from Waukee to Jefferson Saturday, Sept. 5, and back to Waukee the next day. There will be live music in every town along the way, and three bands on the courthouse square Saturday night.

The yarn bombed bikes will be sold by silent auction, with all proceeds going toward another TVT project, Alphabet Alley. “This will be a win-win situation for the community and for TVT, and we want you to be part of the fun,” a TVT spokesperson said.

Persons who would like to do knit or crochet for the project can notify Amy Roberts at amyroberts555@gmail.com, call 515-386-2509, or leave the TVT a message at its Facebook page.
